HISTORY;
Lirit was born the son of a female bard and one of the guards for House Keir, and the only child his mother was able to have safely. She suffered through three miscarriages within the first five years of the boy's life, and the experience left the woman sullen and listless. His father did what he could to maintain the woman's health, but her malady was primarily emotional, and there was really nothing either Lirit or his father could do.

She died on his eighth birthday, and it left a void for his father that would never be filled. The man threw all of his efforts into his duty protecting the nobles of House Keir, and there was unspoken encouragement for his son to do the same, even if the boy really didn't seem built for the work of a knight.

It was meeting the children of House Keir that really caused the boy to persue the idea seriously. Or, rather, getting dragged into one of their myriad of odd (and often trouble-causing) games at a gathering of several of the houses of Korin one year. The knights of the various houses had been encouraged to invite their families to the occasion, and Lirit's father felt it might help the boy to become somewhat more sociable. It resulted in a broken arm and a bunch of other scratches and scrapes resulting from some form of contest that his father could never quite get him to tell all the details of. The younger children of House Keir - Edain and Tyre - came by every so often to see how he was healing, and he became something of a playmate to them, only a year younger than Tyre herself.

Eventually, Lirit became friends with the pair, as well as the two older siblings Camdyn and Wade, and he became rather determined to become a knight like his father in order to serve House Keir and keep his friends safe from harm. It took a good deal of time for him to get anywhere close to being considered "passable" with any form of weaponry, although he turned out to not be half so bad when stuck on dragonback. When his father fell ill shortly after the boy turned seventeen, Lirit took on the responsibilities of a knight, full-time (thanks to a little persuasion on the part of Tyre and Edain). Since he wasn't exactly as proficient with weaponry as many of the other, more experienced knights, he was charged with guarding whichever of the Keir children were home at any given time.

At least, that was the story everyone knew. Recent events revealed him to be a spy from the rival house Sylea, placed within House Keir to prepare for an event much like the mysterious deaths of Tyre's brothers.

PERSONALITY;
A bit jumpy and prone to repeating himself, Lirit is a somewhat clumsy young man. Of course, considering who he was charged with guarding, it's no wonder. He tends to ramble at times, as if he really isn't all that sure what to say, which just may be the case. His social skills aren't exactly the best around. Incredibly loyal to House Keir, and particularly the children of the house, he's fully willing to put his life on the line for them, although their tendancy for pulling dangerous stunts tends to freak him out quite a lot.

Part of his clumsiness is because Lirit is actually nearsighted...not much so, but enough to make him a little awkward with everyday life, though not so much as to actually prevent him from fighting. He has a pair of glasses, but he seldom wears them as it makes flying difficult and is not very knightly, but he keeps them around for reading.

APPEARANCE;
Lirit has short, messy dark hair that can obcsure his vision at times, and violet-tinted eyes. He stands about 5'5" and tends to dress very simply, despite the fact that he really SHOULD be wearing armor, or at least something to provide him better protection. He's rather slim and looks more like someone you'd expect to find rummaging around in a library rather than serving as a knight. He also tends to look a bit younger than he should, which is generally a commonly used joke among the other knights of House Keir.
